Growing up, I always saw my father using a money clip. So I decided to take advantage of the profession im in to create not only one, but a collection of them.

Initial Sketches: Starting with a square for each sketch, I started to play around with how it would all look like.

Material: After I had the sketches, I had to determine the size of the material, after looking at multiple money clips, I decided it should be 4 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width. I got 12 Gauge sheet metal so it would be easy to manipulate. After doing so, I went ahead and cut out my desired shapes on the metal bandsaw.

Folding and making them functional: The scariest part would be actually folding the metal, as it might get a bit crooked or bend in an undesired way, however it was all mostly a success.

Finishing: I decided to sandblast and angle grind them for finishing.

Creating a home for the product: Since I had the product, I had to devise a way to create a place for it to live; as if it were its own product to be sold. I sketched it out and decided to move onto 3d printing it. I utilized magnets so it snaps into place and feels more luxurious.
